Reinforce Thermoplastic Pipes also known as flexible composite pipes, they are a reliable high strength synthetic fibre (such as glass, aramid or carbon),developed to replace medium pressure steel pipes in response to growing demand for non- corrosive conduits for application in the onshore oil and gas industry.
The idea of synthetic fibre reinforced pipe has origins in the flexible hose and offshore industry where it has been frequently used for applications such as control lines in umbilical and production flowline for over 30 years.
A RTP/FCP pipe is generally composed of several layers, basically existing from a HDPE pipe, a reinforcement layer and a HDPE outer cover layer. This enables the pipe to have unique features versus conventional steel/carbon steel pipe lines in the area of corrosion resistance, flexibility, installation speed and re-usability.
The pipes use many kinds of connection forms such as enhancement in-line coupling, swaging fitting, flanged joint to connect.
A RTP/FCP pipe is available in coils up to 400 m (1,312 ft) length. These pipes are available in pressure ratings from 30 to 90 bar (3 to 9 MPa; 435 to 1,305 psi).
